The Enclave at Rye Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is a facility with 20 years of experience with backgrounds in acute, sub-acute, long term and outpatient care, providing an excellent setting for learning and growth.
The Nurse educator assists and supports the translation of the nursing philosophy of the facility into a nursing system.
He/she assesses the educational needs of all staff and plans, develops, and implements training programs to meet those needs.
Nurse Educator (RN) Job Duties:
As the Nurse Educator you will be responsible for helping the director of nursing with various tasks as well as managing the daily flow of work.
Plans, develops and directs the orientation program for all employees; supervises and monitors nursing employees throughout individualized orientation period;Develops in-service programs in response to staff needs and teaches staff current accepted resident care and facility practices;Coordinates and teaches Nurse Aide Certification courses, where applicable; Participates in interdepartmental meetings to assess and coordinate need for in-service; Assists in evaluation of performance of new nursing personnel; Directs and/or assists in development and implementation of nursing facility Quality Improvement Program; Assists with ongoing development and revision of Nursing Procedure Manual; Makes daily unit rounds in all resident care areas to assist with maintaining quality nursing services rendered; Assumes responsibilities for Nursing Department in absence of Director of Nursing/Assistant D.

; Functions as nursing administrative on-call, as scheduled; Maintains in-service records on all employees; Directs the implementations of clinical initiatives; Develops in-service programs for all disciplines each calendar year which includes State/Federal mandatory in-services; Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights;Performs other duties as requestedNurse Educator (RN) Qualifications/Requirements:
The Nurse educator must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current registered NY nurse licensure by the State Board of NursingA minimum of three years full-time or equivalent clinical experience is required and a minimum of two years of clinical experience in long-term care nursing with one year in a management/administrative or supervisory capacity is preferred.
Previous experience teaching adults is recommendedMust have thorough knowledge of nursing theory, techniques and practices.
Must have good verbal and communication skills with the ability to demonstrate organizational and educational skills.
Must have considerable knowledge of teaching and training techniques.
Must have skill in handling and manipulating instruments and equipment.
Must be able to analyze, organize, and adapt training and educational materials.
Must be able to execute the details of planning an in-service training program and to present the subject matter effectively.
Must provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test.
Salary:
